Technicians will be performing a major upgrade to the CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) starting at midnight tonight. All Internet, Email and Digital Telephone services will be interrupted. The maintenance period is 12 midnight to 6am Tuesday morning.
Once the upgrade has been completed, all cable modems and digital telephone devices should be restored. If they are not, please follow these simple steps before calling Plant TiftNet Technical Services.
1. Disconnect power to the cable modem; in the case of the Arris eMTA device (Digital Telephone), you will need to take a pen, pencil or paper clip and press in the reset button on the back. These units have batteries installed, so disconnecting power will be of little benefit.
2. Wait 30 seconds and reapply power (for non-Arris eMTA devices). Wait up to 15 minutes for the service to be restored to the cable modem.
If after following these instructions you still cannot get online, please contact Technical Services at 382-2494.
