What ports should I open on my firewall to use the Digital Telephone service?

What ports should I open on my firewall to use the Digital Telephone service?

NOTE:  This only applies to the older Innomedia style ATA that plugs up behind a cable modem or firewall.  No ports need to be opened for the newer Arris units which are cable modem and ata devices combined.

If you are placing the MTA/DTA behind a firewall, you may have to make the following changes in your firewall:

The following ports need to be open in both directions:

  80 (TCP)
  5060 (UDP)
9000-9006, some firewalls will also require 20000-22000 (UDP)
The InnoMedia 3328-2R MTA also uses 10000-10006

The following servers are used for the CallNet service:

  66.33.146.18
  216.53.127.19
  prov1.net2phone.com
  prov2.net2phone.com
  sipvoiceline.net2phone.com

You can also try to put the MTA in a DMZ, but this does not always work.
